Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

A medical specialty concerned with the correction or restoration of form and function through cosmetic or reconstructive surgery. Plastic surgeons perform both elective and non-elective cases. Some elective surgeries may include breast augmentation, tummy tuck, rhinoplasty, liposuction, face lift, neck lift, facial rejuvenation, Brazilian butt lift, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery). While some non-elective surgeries may include cleft lip repair, mastectomy, lesion removal.

Orthopedics

Orthopedics is the branch of medicine concerned with the prevention and correction of disorders, injuries and diseases of the muscular and skeletal systems of the body. The orthopedic surgeon is connected with acute, chronic, traumatic and recurrent injuries and disorders of the bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves, and other related issues. Some surgeries that the orthopedic surgeon performs are the surgical repair of fractures, knee shoulder and hip arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction, and rotator cuff repair.

Gastroenterology

Also known as a GI (gastrointestinal) specialist is trained to diagnose the many diseases that can affect the organs within the digestive system (stomach and intestine). This physician is also trained to perform procedures such as colonoscopies, upper GI endoscopies (EGD), capsule endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, etc. and allows the physician to visualize the upper and lower part of the gastrointestinal tract so that they may check for unusual ulcers, tumors, polyps, and blood vessels.

Head & Neck

Also known as Otolaryngologists (ENT physicians), focus on diseases in the ear, nose, and throat, as well as the head and neck including endocrine surgery and surgical oncology. Some of the procedures they provide are minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery, image-guided endoscopic sinus surgery, voice and vocal cord treatment and surgery, and parotid and salivary gland surgery.

Urology

Urologists are trained to diagnose, treat and manage patients with urological disorders. These physicians focus on the health of the urinary tract and bladder of both male and female patients and the reproductive systems of males. Some of the procedures urologists perform include prostate biopsies, prostate cancer screenings, male and female incontinence surgeries, surgery for kidney and uretal stones, vasectomy, varicocelectomy and family planning.

General & Colorectal Surgery

This surgical specialty focuses on the abdominal contents and digestive system of the body including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts. They usually perform surgeries such as laparoscopies, cholycystectomies, incision and drainage of abscesses, hernia repair, appendectomy, colonoscopy, fistulotomy, and hemorrhoidectomy.

Podiatry

Podiatrists are devoted to the study, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle and lower leg. They provide medical and surgical care for those suffering from these types of problems through assessing what the foot, ankle or lower leg problem may be and then deciding what treatment is best to meet each patient’s individual needs. Some treatments and surgical procedures they perform are the surgical repair of foot and ankle injuries, cosmetic foot surgery, bunionectomies (removal of painful bunions), hammertoe correction surgery, toe joint replacement, and tendon lengthening.

Ophthalmology

This is the branch of medicine that deals with the physiology, anatomy, and diseases of the eye. Our ophthalmologists deal with the medical and surgical treatment of conditions that involve the eye and the facial area surrounding them and are able to offer the latest eye surgeries including: cosmetic eyelid surgery, cataract surgery, lacrimal (tear duct) surgery, retina surgery, and orbital surgery.

A specialty of medicine concerned with easing the suffering and improving the quality of life of those living with pain. These physicians are dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of acute and chronic pain. Some of the treatments they provide are surgical, non-surgical, and minimally invasive techniques to manage pain syndromes and include: lumbar epidural steroid injections, placement of epidural electrodes for spinal cord stimulation, selective nerve root blocks, and cervical (neck) epidural steroid injection.

Gynecology

Gynecologists monitor the health of the female reproductive system which includes the uterus, vagina and ovaries. These physicians deal with issues specific to the female reproductive system and some of the treatments they provide include: vaginal repair such as labiaplasty, biopsies, laparoscopies for ovarian/uterine lesions, hysteroscopy for uterine polyps or fibroids, cervical biopsies, endometrial ablation, and infertility evaluation.

Spinal Surgery

This is a sub-specialty of orthopedics and focuses on the anatomy, neurology, biomechanics and diseases of the spine. The main goal is to utilize both non-surgical and surgical procedures to help restore all maximal functions and treat problems stemming from trauma, accidents, or diseases such as osteoporosis. Some treatments in this specialty include: spinal fusion, spinal tumor decompression, lumbar disc replacement, foramenotomy for pinched nerves, and disectomy of herniated disk.
